“Peace is always right here, we just have to create space for it.” – Carol Tuttle

This quote is one that I agree with wholeheartedly. No matter what is swirling all around us, even when we are in the midst of complete chaos, we can find peace if we create space for it. Sometimes that means figuratively, but that can mean literally as well. A space where you feel comfortable and at ease.

One of the most chaotic times in a family is when you bring a new baby home. There are so many adjustments, unknowns, and everyone is downright tired. I feel like one of the best things you can do for yourself as a new mom (or dad) is to have a space where you can retreat and just be. That is why I think the nursery is so important. Not even for the baby, but for you. Creating a space that you love to be in, feel comfortable in, and can rest in is so important because you will probably be spending a lot of of time in there over the next few months, and that may affect whether that time is more peaceful or stressful.

I’m not sure if it is just because he is our second, or because he is a boy (and let’s be honest, cute boy stuff is pretty limited), but I had such a hard time getting inspired for the new baby’s nursery. I already had a few pieces that I thought I wanted to use, but wasn’t sure how I wanted to pull them all together.

That was until I saw the Bella Bloom Mobiles. After I chose a mobile for his room, everything else just seemed to fall into place. Because of the wooden beads, we went with all natural tones and elements. Because of the feathers, we went more in the “tribal” direction with the rug. It took no time at all once we started the process. It’s amazing how so often just finding one beautiful piece to bring some inspiration is all you need to get the ball rolling.

I tried to keep his room very simple, while still including all of the necessary elements of a nursery. If there is one thing I have learned from being a parent, it’s that anything you can do to make things more efficient and practical is worth it.

Here are a few of the products in his room that are tried, true, and tested. We love them just as much now as we did the day we brought Shiloh home. There are some products that feel like they’ve got your best interest in mind, and these are definitely some of those.

I probably wouldn’t leave the plant next to the crib where it could be grabbed, but I love that you included plants in the room. They’ll help filter the air for the little one. Also, love the color of the crib!

Haha absolutely. I will definitely need to move that once he starts pulling up and able to reach it! Thanks 🙂
